Another Halloween Project

Here is a simple paper folding project that can be used for Halloween...a Halloween Treat Pocket! Grab some of your favorite Halloween papers and embellishments, follow the easy steps, and you'll be set...

Step 1: Begin with an exact square sized piece of paper. You can use solid cardstock or printed paper...the double-sided kind looks great. My square is 9"X9"...the bigger the square, the bigger the pocket.

Step 2: Turn the paper so it looks like a diamond and fold the bottom point up to meet the top, forming a triangle...crease.

Step 3: Take the bottom right corner and fold it across to the left side....crease.

Step 4: Repeat step 3 using the bottom left corner.

Step 5: Open up the top "flaps" and fold the front flap forward, over the folds. Crease and "puff" the pocket open a bit. You don't need any adhesive to help keep the pocket together, as the folds do this on their own. Simple!

Step 6: Decorate as you like...fill with a treat...and there you have it!

Hope you'll try one...or several! And if you can't do them for Halloween, try them for Thanksgiving as place setting cards...or at Christmas with some hot chocolate and a candy cane. They can be made for any occasion just by changing the papers. Have fun!

Getting Ready for Halloween

I've been busy this weekend trying to get some projects done for Halloween. I made some cute name cards for the ladies attending our scrapbook retreat this upcoming weekend. I used products from FancyPants and the MemoryWorks October Express Kit. The kit is very cute...and it is available for purchase right now, if anyone's interested!

Also...I made some cute treat pockets for my niece and 2 nephews. I saw this idea in a Hobby Lobby magazine....so simple and really fun to do!

October Cleaning...

Well, I spent a good chunk of my weekend attempting to clean up my cropping area! I did not get finished, but did get it all a bit more organized. I still have my work table to go and really wanted to sort through some papers before my retreat on the 22nd...but don't know if that will happen or not. It does feel good to get things organized, doesn't it? :)

Fellow TeamWorks' member, Elaine M., and I are hosting the MemoryWorks Challenges/Chat on the MW Message Board this month. Our theme is "It's All About YOU!" You have to be a consultant to post on the boards, but you can come in as a visitor to just read posts...so join us to see what's happening this month! Click here to go to the Creative Challenge forum on the board. Make sure you look for the October Challenges and Make & Takes...which are the ones Elaine and I are hosting, but you can also look back at past months and find all kinds of cool projects and ideas!

I posted the Business Challenge and it had to do with scrapbooking about why I became a MW Consultant...here's the layout. Hope you like it!

And the Winner Is...

So if there was a prize for the "Worst Blogger" it would indeed be me! It is apparent that I must have too many things going on, or I would do a better job of updating my blog. However...I am going to make an honest effort to improve.

That being said, I'm posting a couple of recent projects and hope you enjoy what you see. I promise it won't be 7 months before my next post!

February Projects

February has been a hectic month...and there's still a week to go! I was on the design team for the MemoryWorks February Express Kit and had a deadline for those projects...in addition to some Valentine cards I made to sell at a friend's shop. We also had some remodeling going on in our house at the beginning of the month. So...I'm ready for March to arrive and hopefully it will bring some less hectic days! I do have one thing to look forward to before February is over...I get to scrapbook all day on Saturday, 2/28! Yipee!!! Hope you get some time to be creative soon...

Love is in the Air...

Well...I did manage to make one Valentine card! I am hoping to make more before the actual holiday...but since we have been doing some remodeling at the house, it has been difficult to get into the creative spirit, especially with all the noise and dust surrounding me on a daily basis!

I hope to post some more soon...so check back when you can!
